Description of the package

This package concerns people who live in a non-cable area. One very special thing about Virgin is that none of the connections proposed by the Internet Service Provider have a limited usage. In a nutshell, cable and non-cable broadband bundles allow you to download as many files as you want, without having to worry about a potential extra fee (Be careful, however, there is a fair use policy). The High-speed is up to 8 meg which is quite fast, and the price is quite low.

DSL or cable ?

The eligibility of your phone line will determine whether this package is available for you through adsl. If not, you might still be able to join Virgin Media with one of its cable (Size M, L or XL) packages. They are provided through fiber optic cables, which means that you don't necessarily have to be paying a phone bill. However, you'll have to pay a £25.00 connection charge.

Thanks to this bundle and its Broadband Phone package, you'll save money. UK week-end calls will be free, evening & day-time calls will only cost 3.25p per minute (bottom-of-the-line package). Many other Virgin Phone packages do exist, from unlimited weekend UK landline calls (£11 a month) to a maximum of 800 minutes to call anywhere, on regular or cellular phone lines (40£ a month)

This broadband connection is a very good deal for passionate cinema or music lovers, or simply for those who like to spend hours on the Internet with a coffee pot at their fingertips, but speed remains slightly wispy for hardcore downloaders. PC Guard, contrary to the other Virgin Media packages, is not provided : don't forget to get your own firewall and antivirus software.
