With Virgin's Pay As You Go, there is absolutely no installation needed. The dial-up operates as a "plug-and-browse-the-internet" connection. All you have to do is to connect the computer to your phone line. You'll only pay a 3p minute rate per minute. As you may probably know, dial-up was the first technology used by general public to go on the Internet, but it is outdated and too sluggish compared to broadband, nowadays.
